Hadrian, 117-138. As (Copper, 27 mm, 12.41 g, 12 h), Rome, 130-138. HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P Bare-headed and draped bust of Hadrian to right, seen from behind. Rev. NILVS / S C Nilus reclining to right on urn, holding cornucopiae in his left hand and reed in his right; at feet, hippopotamus to left; in water, crocodile to left. BMC 1774. Cohen 996 var. (differing bust type). RIC 1703. A beautiful example with a wonderful brown patina. The reverse struck very slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
